Courage

Courage is Nautilus Behavior Health’s resident pup. Not much is known about this senior dog’s early years. In the Summer of 2026, Dr. Dew-Reeves and her daughter first met Courage at the Jacksonville Humane Society, while Dr. Dew-Reeves’ daughter was volunteering through their Pawsitive Reading program. They noticed that Courage was a sweet girl who always listened attentively and never barked. They continued to see her at the shelter week after week and decided she needed a break. They took her on a Dog Day Out and after spending the day together, they knew that Courage was the perfect dog for their family.

Since Courage is SO human-oriented, Dr. Dew-Reeves quickly realized that she may enjoy meeting patients and families at the office. She immediately took to the office, where she now comes at least 3 days a week. Courage is very intuitive and empathetic. She loves children, is incredibly patient and seems to know who needs extra attention (whether that is the patient, their parent or even a sibling). She takes her job very seriously and is always eager to meet new people or see her returning families. She is a good girl who loves getting pets and belly rubs. Courage is currently in the process of training to be an official therapy dog.
